Retail/Merchandise Internship - Charlotte Independence (Charlotte, NC)

The Charlotte Independence is looking for a Retail/Merchandise Intern for the remainder of the 2017 season. This is a part-time position that will require flexible hours including nights and weekends. The internship is unpaid but students are encouraged to seek college credit wherever possible.

The Retail/Merchandise Intern will oversee the merchandise booth during all home games and assist with sales and inventory. A successful applicant will demonstrate strong organizational skills along with initiative, resourcefulness and an ability to collaborate with fellow team members to achieve departmental goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with setup and teardown of all merchandise displays at home games and special events
  • Maintain quality merchandise displays by removing damaged products and keeping shelves/drawers/tables clean
  • Maintain inventory by restocking shelves/drawers/tables with new product and sizes
  • Keep inventory well organized and properly stored
  • Assist customers with questions related to team products
  • Process merchandise sales
  • Attend team or community events as needed
  • Additional administrative tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Housing in Charlotte or the surrounding area and have adequate transportation to events and games
  • Available to work from August-November (specific timeframe is negotiable) 
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and make quick decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer-service oriented
  • Must be self-motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude and strong desire to learn
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds, perform some manual labor, walk/stand for long periods of time and be outside in varying weather conditions
  • Prior cash handling experience preferred but not required

Box Office Internship - Charlotte Independence (Charlotte, NC)

The Charlotte Independence is looking for a Box Office Intern for the remainder of the 2017 season. This is a part-time position that will require flexible hours including nights and weekends. The internship is unpaid but students are encouraged to seek college credit wherever possible.

The Box Office Intern will assist the Ticket Operations Manager on game days with the sale and delivery of single game, group and season ticket orders. A successful applicant will demonstrate strong organizational skills along with initiative, resourcefulness and an ability to collaborate with fellow team members to achieve departmental goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist Ticket Operations Manager with Box Office/Will Call setup and teardown on game days
  • Print and sort all gameday Will Call tickets and other special orders
  • Sell tickets to walk-up customers at the Box Office
  • Address ticket related customer services inquiries as needed
  • New customer data entry
  • Assist with nightly ticket stub counts
  • Serve as a ticket scanner when needed
  • Support tickets sales efforts of Independence staff
  • Attend team or community events as needed
  • Additional administrative tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Local housing in the Charlotte or the surrounding area and have adequate transportation to events and games

Marketing Intern – Mass Communications, Communication Studies, Marketing, Business

•        Work directly with Director of Marketing to contact business sponsors to expand business partnerships including new and group programs.  Work includes research, preparation and execution of all aspect of sponsorships.  Intern will work directly with the business leader to achieve sponsorship goals.

•    Interns will be involved in planning and executing the  marketing plans including writing copy   for social media, constant contact (e-newsletter) flyers, etc.  As well layout of ad, flyers and   posters, to promote game day special events.  Finally they will be responsible for writing radio copy and coordinating with the station placement of all ads.

•         Implement and attend public appearances

Responsibilities:

Saint Louis Football Club is looking for a Team Operations Intern(s) for the USL and PDL. The Team Operations Internship is for a minimum of 24 weeks and can be extended if so desired. The position requires morning availability and 25-30 hours a week plus home game days. Interns will report directly to the Operations Manager and Head Coach. We are looking for detail oriented, driven individuals with knowledge of the sport. Interns will also be working with the coaching and operations staff to prepare field and locker room for practices and games including:

Job Purpose
Under the direction of the Vice President of Digital this person assists the Marketing, Creative and Business Development departments with timelines, asset distribution and sponsorship activation utilizing the project management software called Wrike. In addition to Wrike, this person will also assist in managing the email marketing system, MailChimp by deploying emails, maintaining data hygiene and analyzing campaign results.

  • Uses templates to deploy weekly newsletters, ensuring all copy is accurate and list segmentation is accurate
  • Updates the email marketing analysis spreadsheet on a regular basis and reaches conclusions and solutions based on the results
  • Pulls call lists of leads for the event sales team  

Sponsorship Activation

  • Assists Business Development with various administrative and organizational tasks
    • Electronically files all sponsor contracts and enters activation tasks into Wrike
    • Conducts inventory on deliverables needed to fulfill sponsorships and ensures deadlines are met for a seamless activation process
      • Organizes and ensures accuracy of sponsor logo file types and company descriptions    

Project Management

  • Maintains the social media and communication’s content calendar and updates on an ongoing basis in Excel and an internal whiteboard
  • Traffics creative projects for necessary approvals (includes web, video, social and PR)
  • Assists in setting up in-season recurring tasks by collaborating with the social and communications team and entering the data in Wrike 

Qualifications

  • Proficiently experienced with Microsoft excel, Microsoft Word, Google Sheets, Google Docs and CSV data files
  • Ability to repurpose written articles into an email template with accuracy
  • Working knowledge in writing enticing email subject lines, preview headers and calls to action
  • Familiar with creative cross functional teams, their workflows and their terminology (Video, Graphics, Web, Communications and PR)
  • Familiar with list segmentation and CRM organizational strategy  
  • Ability to test user’s experiences from email delivery to transaction and post transaction

Job Purpose
The purpose of this internship is to provide aspiring sport business professionals a better understanding of the operations of a youth soccer league.  Through this internship, you will gain real work experience and have an opportunity to assist with the organization’s regular season, scouting events and other special projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
-    Coordinate Super Y League season items with a focus on data retrieval and input
o    Process match and referee reports with respect to statistics, discipline, and minimum standards
o    Maintain player discipline and minimum standards database

-    Assist with the coordination of the Regional Scouting Series events
o    Assist with planning of Regional scouting events
o    Contact SYL customers about the Regional Scouting Series
o    Assist with player registration

-    Participate in PR/Marketing initiatives as needed

Duties and responsibilities

- Assist in monitoring team sites and ensuring compliance with the guidelines outlined within the USL Digital Network manual

- Create copy for implementation on player bio pages

- Update internal website pages with roster, schedule, and information changes

Assisting and managing clubs through the following:
