Communications Coordinator - Las Vegas Lights FC - 2018 Expansion Team (Las Vegas, NV)
The sport of soccer has experienced unprecedented growth in the United States in recent years. This is demonstrated by a variety of metrics -- including fan interest, explosion of games aired on television, media coverage, growth of professional soccer, etc. The United Soccer League (“USL”) is the affiliated minor league of Major League Soccer (“MLS”). It features 30+ clubs across the U.S. & Canada.
Position Summary: The expansion club is looking for a creative and driven Communications Coordinator to work with the Communications Department staff to connect and engage with our fans and stakeholders in a unique, meaningful way.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
With manager direction, assist in implementing club's communications plan
Manage media inquiries and interview requests
Help to plan and execute social media strategy
Create content for press releases, articles, social media and club presentations
Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a regular basis
Professional appearance and attitude, demonstrating poise, tact, and diplomacy.
Ability to handle sensitive, confidential situations and information.
Strong organizational, communications and interpersonal skills.
Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities
Independent judgment to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload
Strong teamwork skills
Self-motivated and goal-driven
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university, with a focus in public relations, communications or journalism
Shows versatility and the ability to handle multiple projects in a high-paced environment
Must be a self-starter
Excellent communication and listening skills
Strong writing and editorial skills
Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred
